Maine Coon chilling in apartment

What type of houses are suitable for a maine coon?

This is not a silly question. Many people look at a Maine Coon and think that they require large open spaces and perhaps with a wooded area. The reality is that Maine Coons are house cats and should not be allowed outside without supervision and control (preferrably with a cat lead). Every-time your cat ventures outside you are exposing it to diseases, bacteria, not to mention physical dangers of traffic, theft and other local predators. Your Maine Coon is a responsibility that you need to take care of.

Your Maine Coon is a precious asset that has only known the interior of a home. Therefore, they are the ideal apartment cat.

When I purchased my first Maine Coon I lived in an apartment. They are simply wonderful to live with and are enormously creative. They do prefer to have company, especially if you are going to be out all day I would highly recommend a second Maine Coon.

In time your home will become their home. So the answer is, Your Home!
